Synopsis

Women who really want the beach and romance. Men with a strong desire for sex and games. Three couples on vacation on the Greek islands. All included. A comical and spicy classic. Live, as only in the theater.

Elisabete Pinto

Elisabete Pinto was born in Castro Daire, Viseu, in 1974. She has a Professional Ballet Theater Course - Teatro Escola Profissional, Porto and a Postgraduate Degree in Artistic Education, from the Escola Superior de Educação de Viana do Castelo. She is a Master's student in Artistic Education at ESE-IPVC. She completed an internship in the city of Régio Emilia, Italy, under the guidance of director Franco Brambila and set designer Josef Svoboda. She began her professional activity in 1995, at the theater company Filandorra- Teatro do Nordeste, in Vila Real. In January 1996, she joined Teatro do Noroeste – Centro Dramático de Viana where she remains to date. As an actress, she has participated in more than 90 professional creations. As a director, she staged several shows for children and youth. She served as Stage Director of Teatro do Noroeste – Centro Dramático de Viana between 1999 and 2012. In 2013 she was elected President of the Board of Directors of Teatro do Noroeste - Centro Dramático de Viana, CRL., having also assumed the Artistic Direction of the theater company , a position he held until July 2015.


Helena Ávila

Helena Ávila was born on the island of Pico, Azores in 1986. In 2008 she completed her degree in Theater and Education, from the Escola Superior de Educação de Coimbra. In 2017 she completed a year of conservatory in Acting for film, at the New York Film Academy, Los Angeles campus. His extra-curricular training highlights workshops with: Miguel Seabra, Manuel Pureza, Nuno Pino Custódio, Rui M. Silva and the Theater and Education masterclass with João Mota.

In 2008, she began working as a teacher of Artistic Expressions in Curricular Enrichment Activities in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education. Later, as an actress she worked at Teatro do Noroeste-CDV, at Joana – Grupo de Teatro, at Teatro Arte d'Encantar and Baal 17 – Companhia de Teatro. Among the directors she worked with, Ricardo Simões, Nuno Pino Custódio, Fernando Gomes, Sofia de Portugal, Maria João Miguel and Carlos Santiago stand out. In Serpa, she contributed to the organization of the Noites na Nora festival between 2014 and 2016. 2016 was the year in which she took her first steps in Cinema, in independent productions in California. In Portugal, where she returned in 2020, she highlights her participation in Luís Diogo's most recent film, Já Nada Sei and in the short film Cavaleiro Vento , by Margarida Gil. In the latter, in addition to participating as an actress, she also collaborated as a production assistant.

She is the godmother of the Pico Zen 2023 festival, which reflects her active and healthy lifestyle.


Nuno J. Loureiro

Born in 1977. Debuted in 1998 as a professional actor at Companhia de Teatro do Noroeste – CDV in the show “Parvos e Mulheres” by Gil Vicente, directed by Manuel Geraz. He entered the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo do Porto in 1999, where he obtained a degree in Theater Studies, Interpretation variant in 2003. In the first quarter of 2001, he was an Erasmus student at the University of Northumbria (Newcastle) on the course from Acting for Film and TV. In 2006 he joined the Organizing Committee of the 1st edition of the SET Festival (Theatre Schools Week) and assumed the role of Executive Producer. Between 2006 and 2010 he took on roles as a collaborating professor at ESMAE in the Production department, where he worked as a Staging Assistant. He collaborates with directors Howard Gayton, Lee Beagley and Nuno Cardoso. He also works as a trainer/coordinator of the Free Theater Course during the same period. Since then, he has worked as an actor in companies: Teatro do Noroeste – CDV (Viana do Castelo), Teatro Oficina (Guimarães), Teatro Atípico (Porto), Dois Pontos - Associação Cultural (Porto), Produções Suplementares (Porto), Teatro Ágil (Viana do Castelo), Teatro Arado (Vila Nova de Gaia), Yellow Star Company (Lisbon) and Associação Usina (Lisbon). In the Staging and Training component, he has worked regularly with several amateur and semi-professional theater groups: Citânia - Associação Juvenil (Guimarães), Marabunta Theater Group (Porto), Associação Teatro Construção (Joane), Dupla-Face Companhia das Artes (Ponte de Lima), Vez Theater Group (Arcos de Valdevez), Krisálida - Alto Minho Cultural Association (Caminha). He has also been a regular guest at the S. João da Madeira Theater Festival, where he directs the Theater Workshop aimed at Primary and Secondary Education students and members of amateur groups in the Municipality.


Philippe Leroux

Philippe Leroux is an actor, director and professor of dramatic art. He studied theater at the Sorbonne and acting at the Actingstudio in Paris, where he won a Cyrano prize for best theater company. He worked in Portugal and France with several directors, such as Robert Cordier, João Lourenço, Nuno Carinhas, José Wallenstein among others. In cinema he worked with directors such as Fanny Ardent, Sérgio Graciano, Edgar Pêra and Artur Ribeiro among others. He participated in several television projects, notably the series “Alves dos Reis”, “Um Lugar para Viver” and “Inspector Max”. 


Rafaela Sá

She began his theater training in 2015 on the Professional Interpretation Course at ACE - Famalicão.

In 2017 he made his professional debut with “Mulheres-Tráfico”, directed by Manuel Tur, and then participated in: “Das Tripas, Coração” - 99: Um Ano Para o Centenário_ Teatro Nacional São João, directed by Nuno M. Cardoso and Nuno Cardoso; “(The Tragedy) of Júlio César”, staged by Luís Araújo in a production Ao Cabo Teatro with Co-production Teatro Nacional São João and São Luiz Teatro Municipal; “But Someone Asked Me If I Wanted to Go to the Theater?!” a creation of Teatro do Noroeste, directed by Ricardo Simões; “A Vós” directed by Sara Barbosa, Luísa Braga and Rafaela Sá; “António Marinheiro” and “Terror and Misery in the Fall of Democracy” productions by the Os Quatro Ventos Theater Company, directed by Pedro Ribeiro.

With the company Cão Danado he participated in the Creativity UK exchange and filmed with French film director Pascal Luneau.

Stage assistant in “Primavera Selvagem” by Arnold Wesker, staged by Jorge Pinto, Co-production Ensemble – Sociedade de Atores /TNSJ.

At ACE Escola de Artes de Famalicão he worked as a staging assistant for: Emília Silvestre, João Castro, Miguel Eloy, Paulo Calatré, Pedro Lamares, Tiago Correia, Tony Oliveira and directing assistance to Nuno Rocha.

He made his film debut with “Cair”, a short film by Vasco André dos Santos produced by Versum Creative Studio in partnership with XS Filmes and “Estações da Vida. Wind of Disorder”, a film by Tomás Baltazar. On television, he made his debut with the RTP1 miniseries “Fernão Lopes: A História de um Soldado Desconhecido” directed by Hugo Diogo.


Tiago Fernandes

Professional actor since 2002, graduated in Theater Studies – vocational branch from the University of Évora, also studied at the London Language and Drama School (United Kingdom) and did numerous training sessions with masters such as Glen McCready, Liza Keast, Luís Varela, Maria Helena Serôdio , Guillermo Heras, Bibi Perestrelo, Carlos J. Pessoa, Isabel Barros, Teresa Lima, Gonçalo Amorim, Sara Belo, João Grosso, João Mota, Nuno Cardoso, Olga Roriz, Juni Dahr, João Henriques, among others. He is currently part of the resident cast of Teatro do Noroeste – Centro Dramático de Viana and staged “O Gato Malhado e a Andorinha Sinhá”, the company's 143rd creation.

World Theater Day with Guerra de Sexos in Viana do Castelo

Teatro do Noroeste – Centro Dramático de Viana premieres Guerra de Sexos, a comedy based on Aristophanes' classic, rewritten and staged by Ricardo Simões, on March 27th, World Theater Day, at 9pm, in the Main Room of Teatro Municipal Sá from Miranda.

The company marks the anniversary with the premiere of the 154th creation and the Reading of the Message of World Theater Day 2023, written by Samiha AYOUB, with official translation into Portuguese by Tiago Fernandes, actor of the Resident Cast and member of the company's Board of Directors.

With a current plot full of clichés, Guerra de Sexos tells the story of women who are eager for the beach and romance and men who are eager for sex and gambling. Three couples on vacation on the Greek islands. All included. A comical and spicy classic. Live, as only in the theater.

The show performed by Elisabete Pinto, Helena Ávila, Nuno J. Loureiro, Philippe Leroux, Rafaela Sá and Tiago Fernandes, features scenography and props by Adriel Filipe, costumes by Rafaela Mapril, choreography by Mariana Pombal, musical selection and orality by Vítor Lima and lighting by Cárin Geada, Ageas Teatro Nacional D. Maria II Revelation Award in 2022.

On stage from March 27th to April 16th, Guerra de Sexos has sessions on March 27th and 31st, April 14th at 9pm, March 28th, 29th, 30th, April 1st, 13th and 15th at 7pm and Sundays, April 2nd and 16th at 4pm.

The Educational Service of Teatro do Noroeste – Centro Dramático de Viana also organizes several mediation and accessibility activities: Stage Recognition in all sessions upon pre-registration, Simultaneous Translation into Portuguese Sign Language and Digestive - Post Show Conversations on April 1st and Audio description on April 15th.

Entry to the session on March 27th, World Theater Day, is free by collecting a ticket from two hours before the start of the show at the Sá de Miranda Municipal Theater Ticket Office or at BOL – Online Ticket Office. Ticket prices for the remaining sessions vary between 4€ and 10€.
